I referred my friend in November. I was with him when he used the link to sign up.
No sign of the credit for me or him.
I have just got off the phone to virgin and the say they know nothing about it and if I don't have my referral code they can't do anything. I still have the email confirming that a referral was sent to my friend. This was obviously sent days before he signed up. They spoke to their manager but told me that was useless and they needed the email with the link from him. This was almost three months ago, he has since deleted the email. Why would he keep it?! Their attitude was “Sorry there is nothing we can do. Thanks for referring your friend though!”.
I feel like the whole referral scheme is a con to be honest. Virgin don’t seem to care now that they have my friend signed up.
I have three lot friends who are asking if they should join but I doubt that I will refer them and I will probably leave when my contract is up.

There is a specific process in place for referring customers. The existing account holder, which is you in this case, needs to pop in their friend's details via this page here: Refer A Friend
This then generates an email to both the existing and new customer confirming the referral. The Friend then needs to join via that email. Unless this is followed, no link is made between the 2 accounts.
Checking your account I'm not seeing any link on there to show you've been referred. Have you still got the email showing the referral? If so I will be able to raise this for you even though the call centre wasn't able too.
