I have missed incoming calls because both my landline 'phones haven't rung for 2 days. Also, when I ring using my mobile, the caller i/d does not display.
When I didn't answer the 'phone, my family became quite worried that I'd had an accident and couldn't respond to their calls.
Also, I have a permanent "message waiting" dial tone, but this happens quite often. It's a bit of a nuisance having to dial 1571 or 1471 to check. I have fixed that problem in the past by disconnecting the 'phone for an hour or two (or perhaps the fault fixed itself anyway?).
