Packet loss and massive speed drops

Hi there,

I've been having an issue with my Virgin Media line where I am getting some packet loss and low speeds, this is especially apparent during peak times which may point towards an oversubscribed area.

I am paying for a 100mbps line however, the speed seems to be more often around 30-50mbps off-peak but I've seen drops as low as 4mbps at peak times, this speed alone is unacceptable, it can be enough to run most online games....however I appear to be getting some packet loss which causes some lag in-game.

I am using a wired connection via a Powerline adapter however I have confirmed that the issue persists via direct wire and wireless.
