Can somebody please help!
I transferred over to Virgin National from Sky Broadband. I had no major problems with Sky as such, just that it was slow, and in fact Virgin has proven to be quicker... when it works!
I have followed lots of advice on here, from changing settings to resetting, etc.
At least once per day, we need to restart the router as the wireless seems to completely disappear. There are no signs on the router as such (i.e. lights) which would indicate there is a problem, there is just no internet at all - randomly and suddenly. Particularly frustrating when downloading or watching iplayer.
The router has been this way within a couple of days of starting with Virgin. I'm beginning to think this is a router hardware issue rather than a settings issue. ANY HELP would be great!

well best idea would be try and alter the wireless channel to do start this download this - http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider (free wifi program but not supported by virgin media)
install it run it will show all the wireless channels from any other wireless routers in your area, look for a channel from 1 to 13 not being used, or under used. open your internet explorer type in the addresss bar
Default IP address is http://192.168.0.1. The default username is admin, while default password is password.
click on wireless settings and change the wifi channel
also make sure the hub is the open air, as high as you can make it not next to any other electronic devices like especially TV, cordless phone, baby monitors etc.
update the firmware this of course will make the warranty invalid - http://support.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id

Thanks for you reply.
I have tried changing the channel. All my neighbours are on Channel 1, and I'm on 13.
I have not updated the firmware as I was trying to avoid invalidating the warranty. Is there anything else I can try and do?
