Virgin Media Ports

Hello, I've used the website http://www.canyouseeme.org/ to check if ports work, I randomly made up port numbers and they all Connection timed out, apart from ports such as 80, 25 etc.

Why? Help!

Regards

Re: Virgin Media Ports

Probably because they are closed as they should be to prevent people hacking into your system.

Is there any reason you need a particular port open?

You can open ports by configuring a port forwarding rule in your router.

Re: Virgin Media Ports

Ports only show open if you have a listening device for that port.

Visiting a webpage does not open your computer up to port 80.  In fact, the majority of outbound connections will likely change port numbers once the connection is made.

If you seen a responce saying that you had a lot of Open ports, then you should worry.

I would also make websites for them, because the job never seems to require the website to work.

Re: Virgin Media Ports

It's for a game I play, I want to be the host and host it but it requires ports,  30000, 30001

1. game.tcp.port

2. MUS.PORT
