No access to RS

Anyone know why I don't have access to rapidshare webpage? 

In the morning I could use it without any problems..

Just to confirm it dosnt work for me either.  Using a proxy I CAN access it though.

Seems like VM users now have issues with rapidshare AND Megaupload.

why is that?

Virgin media is blocking rapidshare, either intentionally or by accident.

With megaupload it appears VM is forcing users to go through a transparent proxy to get to it, so everyone has the same IP and thus cannot download.  Again this could be intentional, a bad configuration or something that auto-configured due to the high bandwidth to/from those sites.

I am hoping that this is some sort of error and Virgin arent daring to dictate which sites people can access and which they cant,  that is just outrageous

thats excatly what the digital economy bill is trying to inforce. i dont know if vm are blocking access to file hosts such as rapidshare and megaupload etc... but theres realy nothing you can do about it if they are.

the digital economybill gives the government the power to block access to any site it deams associated with file shareing and in the case of RS and MU MS etc.. it would make sence that this is now being done.

does anyone know if RS has been blocked ? surely if they have blocked it then they are breaking their contract agreements. i need RS as i store all my website graphics packages i make for websites on there servers !  So compensation for lost work should be in the picture!

until VM make an official statement on the matter all we can do is wate.

if you are able to ping the website then its not being blocked via, and could just be a error with RS

Well if this is the case I hope an official announcement will be made, I shall close my broadband account at once.  Then I will sit back and watch many, many more people do the same
