ContributionsMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Contract Renewal There is something wrong, probably with the software that "manages" our accounts. It seems to me that it contains so many bugs that putting it right is beyond the software writers. Mine was renewed this year, but they have no way of putting the document on my account screen. I say this, because I received a lot of help by one of the team, but in spite of her efforts, they have failed in trying to let me have the recent contract. I think the techy boys are trying to contact me, but there is nothing I can do from here - I didn't write the software. I would guess that many of the contract problems raised here are the result of dodgy software that is beyond their wit to correct. I have written some (unintended) rubbish myself and I have debugged successfully, so I do understand their difficulty, but there is always a way - all they have to do is find it and fix it. Just needs a wet towel around the head :-) Oh yeah, a lot of patience! Old Blueyonder email Hi I'm a bit lost. I cant find a way to ask questions, other than this way. Nor can I find the rules. When I sign in, I don't have the "start discussion" button like the one for here. So, apologies all round for being thick. I want to delete my compromised blueyonder email, but it is the one I originally used to register with VM broadband. Is it still true that I cannot delete that please? If not, I'll have to live with it - spam all Cheers Cliff Passkeys Hi Everyone I'm being tempted to use verification which is other than the usual method of setting a password. I already use passkeys for a couple of other websites and VM now offers something similar. For the ones I use, I have a pin number, not finger or face print. Does anyone know if I can use my present method for VM? I don't have a smart phone, but my neighbour does and I was able to set his up easily in not many seconds. I looked around here and I see nothing but problems, so I'm wary about changing my habits. Any advice would be appreciate. Cheers Cliff SolvedMy new contract I was in midstream with Beth_G about my new contract when the forum site was renewed. So I would like to complete the story please, because I haven't been able to get back into the conversation. I now now have two email contract forms and the answer looks obvious, but I'd like to make sure first. If this gets to Beth, I'd be glad to hear from her. Cheers Cliff. Re: Brown outside Virgin box broken Hi Tudor I worked in binary and found it easier when moving on to octal. I didn't bovver with hex. lazy rather than thick - I hope 🙂 So, instead of trying, unsuccessfully, to unravel your message, would you like to wise me up please? I like the F bit, which I assume is not vulgar, but means you are saying that 16 out of 10 can't suss it? One more - is your 10 an 8(octal) or 16(decimal) This will keep me awake all night for weeks, until you let me off the hook:-) Cheers Cliff contract My Virgin Media account says my contract has expired. It also shows my new contract and I'm being charged at the revised rate. So everything is OK. VM needs to attend to its admin procedures and at least show the correct position. Any chance of that happening? I'm getting fed up because it is not the first time they failed to give the right story. I shouldn't ask two questions at once, but here goes. I'm getting calls from the VM marketing number, 08000521251, but as it is always at 1142am, I guess it is spoofed. I can block it (I think) but I am unable to change my marketing preferences - all I get is the error message to try again later. I could leave all this alone and ignore it, but I like things done properly - it improves confidence. Perhaps a change of staff would be appropriate? Cheers Cliff Re: TV 360 pin wrongly entered That's great! All I have to do is behave myself and get it right. I can relax now. Thanks very much for your help on this one Cheers Re: TV 360 pin wrongly entered Hi newappollo Yes you got me right. No phone and yes it's TV360 The best answer is for me to be careful:-) You've no idea how often I miss buttons:-) The memorable word - is that the one VM asks for 2 letters when we call? If so, I'm ok with that. Thanks TV 360 pin wrongly entered I haven't done it yet, but it is possible that my fingers wont go where my brain tells them to 🙂 I'm getting the warning after the first attempt to enter the pin number incorrectly and it says I'll be locked out if I keep making mistakes. So, in preparation and just in case, what (if anything) should I do if my arthritic fingers don't do as I bid? In looking around the forum I can't anything that says I can remove the need for a pin. Oh, I don't have the TV Go app nor a phone to use it. SolvedRe: 360 > LGTV > Poseidon D60 Soundbar This may not be useful? I have a ZVOX which behaves the same way. I have to use both remotes too. It didn't start out that way. I could only change the volume on the ZVOX remote, but something I must have done changed that and now I can change the volume up from zero but not much else. So I leave the LG volume set to zero and live on the other gizmo. If you don't mind messing about like that it might just be a matter of putting up with it? I find it handy because my kids are unable to change the volume 🙂 🙂
