These were resolved by password changes. A couple of days ago the same thing happened again, on the same account, using my email client. I resolved this by entering my app password for that account. I was wondering if this was deliberately triggered by VM as some sort of security thingy ? Re: RE: non VM email I have a total of three VM email accounts. I can access two of them using the pre existing log in details, but since speaking to an agent a few day ago, and changing to a non VM email address I can only see, log into, one of my email addresses using the non VM email address, the log in protocol for the other two addresses remains the same as before. From what you said in your earlier reply, things will only change if and when I go to change the passwords on either of the other two VM email addreses,s have I got it straight now ? Re: RE: non VM email So, to be absolutely clear, once the non VM email has been created it is no longer possible to log in directly to the original email address. Re: RE: non VM email You use an email address to log into your account via my Virgin Media, now you have to use a non Virgin Media email address. When you do that and then navigate to one of your email addresses it's one that you can no longer log directly into. RE: non VM email Am I correct in believing that when a non VM email address is used to access a VM account it supersedes your old one, ie, when used it logs you into your account then when VM emails are accessed from the account home page it takes you to the email address that has been superseded. Re: Cancel engineer appointment If you phone 150, there is an option on one of the Menus to do just that. Just for information. A couple of times recently and over the last few months my WiFi has occasionally become very slow round the house. The speed has always been very good at the router which is wired to a desktop machine. I have two WiFi boosters in the house, one in a room where I use another device. [Apparently you should never use a booster in the same room where you are using a device], I read this on this forum, and another booster upstairs, again in a room where I normally use my device. Both times I have switched the booster on the ground floor off and on again and the speed at the device has gone from 15-20mbps to over a 100mbps., it's also done the same for the speed upstairs. I am using Sam Knows to measure the speeds. I just thought that I would share this to see if it helps anyone else. Re: Cannot send from one email account Well, an update. I received some clarification from a third person for a couple of points that I had, not wanting to shoot myself in the foot before I tried a couple of things, one of which was deleting and reinstating the rogue account. This I did, but it made no difference. I did some juggling with some passwords and this has done the trick and normal service has resumed. I don't understand why this should have made a difference to just sending from one account but it has. Thanks to all for responding so quickly to my issue, much appreciated. Re: Cannot send from one email account No error messages but it simply keeps asking for a password, I enter the one I use for that account on my desktop machine but it refreshes the screen and again asks for the [single word] password. I did have a similar problem some considerable time ago but it just went away ? As I said before there is no problem with that account on my desktop machine which is running exactly the same set up as the laptops. I have compared the outgoing server setting but they are exactly the same. I have the option to save them as a draft but that's not much use. Cannot send from one email account I have three email accounts and have had them for some years. Recently I find that I cannot 'send' from one of my three email accounts, I can receive OK. I can both send and receive from that account using Webmail, but not using Thunderbird on my two laptops. I also have a desktop machine also using Thunderbird and can send from there without any problems. Anyone any ideas.
