I don't want to lose that function which is presumably, what will happen if the box is just swapped out. Why Has YouTube Become Unsable? It used to be okay, now it's become worse and worse, to the point of being unusable. It goes something like this: you access something, the picture is initially shocking, after several minutes you get to proper picture quality, after maybe five minutes or less it will go to an advert, then the rubbish picture quality returns and the cycle continues until you are automatically kicked out of YouTube completely, usually after less than 10 minutes. What's the explanation? It seems to me if the function is there it should work properly. Thanks Tennis - US Open Hi Why are virgin customers lumbered with such poor coverage of tennis since Sky bought it up? At best for the US Open we have two channels and the + channel is not always showing tennis. Over the first two days these channels have been clogged up for a huge length of time with just two matches involving british players. Anyone who didn't want to watch these two games had virtually no options. Why can't we have either red button options of other courts, or better still other channels covering different courts? Several extra channels were opened up for the Olympics so why couldn't similar be done for Grand Slam tennis? Regards Ian Two Problems - BBC i Player & Programme Guide Hi I reported this problem last year, but it wasn't resolved. I wanted to watch the all court tennis coverage from Wimbledon. Once I select a court the picture breaks up every few seconds making it unwatchable. Eventually, it will just freeze. Last night the programme guide disappeared from my second tv in the bedroom. The same thing happened a few months ago. Please advise on both of these problems. Thanks Re: Transfering BT Landline Number To Virgin And Set Up - How Does It Work? Many thanks for your response. I am about as far removed from a technical bod as you can get so just to try and clarify. Firstly, I am told that the BT landline number will just replace my existing Virgin number which is obviously what I want as I don't want to continue paying for two lines, one of which I barely use. Turning to the set up. I want to continue using my Panasonic main phone set upstairs (because it is close to my computer and router) in conjunction with the cordless downstairs which sits in its charging point, and is just plugged into the mains with the television and tivo. When the wall socket upstairs becomes redundant where do I plug the phone to continue to use my old number? Will the telephone downstairs automatically pick up the signal, or does that also need to plugged into something? Basically, I just want to continue as I am at the moment just swapping Virgin for BT and getting rid of the old Virgin number. I am a little concerned if this changeover goes ahead I might somehow end up losing both numbers. Regards Ian Transfering BT Landline Number To Virgin And Set Up - How Does It Work? Hi Concerned about losing BT landline in 2025. Had no idea until I caught something on TV recently. I don't really use a mobile so rely on my landline. The BT line is essentially my phone number, and I would like/need to retain that number. I didn't actually realise that you could switch phone numbers between providers. At the moment I have the BT landline number which I want to retain and continue to use. I also have TV/Broadband and a phone line with Virgin that I use for nothing more than calling Customer Services. So I have been paying for two phone lines, one of which I haven't really been using. As all my other services are with Virgin it would make sense if I could switch the BT number and just have that one number. I have telephoned Customer Services who advised tme o speak to BT which I have done, but they have referred me back to Virgin. I am posting on here in the hope of getting more clarity than through another telephone call. My main Panasonic phone set with the BT landline is upstairs and plugged into a wall socket next to my desktop and internet connection. This works with a cordless phone and hub which is plugged into a mains socket downstairs. If possible I would like a similar set up when /if the number is transferred. A second telephone is plugged into a wall socket downstairs with the Virgin number. At the moment this is just an enquiry as to how the procedure would be set in motion, and then how the equipment would be set up. Regards Ian Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 You get the impression that it would take virtually every customer to leave for Virgin for them to appear even slightly bothered. Rubbish Customer Service, and no obvious complaint procedure, unless they think ignoring complaints is some sort of procedure. It's a complete train wreck. Chances of them to doing the right and providing proper compensation - zero. This is just a continuation of treating customers with complete contempt. Been going on for a long time and keeps on getting worse. Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 I have received a couple of emails in Windows Mail today, but others have obviously not arrived. When I try to log in to Virgin Media email I get incorrect password, but even if this were true, I can't reset. This is a total shambles. Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 Loads of outages in recent times. No reply to complaint, no compensation, and no encouragement from my post on here - just asks me to chase complaint. Pathetic Customer Service. I tried to log in to email this morning after the sync to windows mail wasn't working, but instead of immediately confirming that there is a major problem it asks you to telephone to reset password? The telephone service is an absolute joke. You couldn't guarantee anyone is actually bothering to pick up. Not that they could help anyway.
