Your insurance company didn't do that as a favour to you, the regulations were changed to make it illegal for them to charge existing customers more than new customers - something that should be adopted in telecoms. I have no loyalty to any business anymore, because they all gauge your eyes out when things are at their worst. Virgin Media is a perfect example. They provide a terrible service, but just slightly less terrible to make a move to Sky or BT feel like suicide. We go into the worst cost of living crisis we've seen in decades and they announce price increases. This is whilst they're transferring people to fibre optic landlines, reducing maintenance on old copper lines whilst still gauging people's eyes out for a service that is effectively running through their broadband as VoIP. I've made well over a grand swapping bank accounts over the last two years and I've found that with the exception of maybe one, they're all atrocious. Before the mobile phone contracts go up each April I port out and get a new deal for 12 months. They're all as bad as each other too. With most companies competing for the 'worst possible service' award, the only distinguishing factor is which is cheapest and we're left with the choice of paying a fortune for rubbish, or paying a fairer price for the same rubbish. Re: Disney+ comes to Virgin Media @Roger_Gooner but we are though, by Virgin's refusal to make apps available on the V6 in order to force a paid migration to the 360. They can add apps like Disney+ to the V6, they're simply choosing to use the 360 as a cash cow instead. It's very naive to think otherwise. It's not fair and I'll be referring it to Ofcom as it seems like something that would be against competition regulations. Re: Disney+ comes to Virgin Media Sure it is, you can get all sorts of apps on it, it's purely a way of forcing people who have no other means of access to pay even more money. Very naive if you think the V6 can't handle Disney+. Re: Disney+ comes to Virgin Media I'm sure it must be some breach of some competitions regulation that Virgin Media has the ability to provide the Disney+ app on the V6, but won't so that they can milk people for even more money for a 360. It's a form of blackmail and extortion. Luckily we found our seven year old Fire Stick still works, and you can get all of the apps on there apart from Apple TV. I have a Chromecast upstairs. Think when our contract is up we'll be cancelling the TV a telephone. Re: Disney+ comes to Virgin Media What's a 360? We have a V6 and can't install Disney+ on it. We have never been offered a swap to whatever a 360 is. Re: Disney+ comes to Virgin Media @davey1 oh wow, that stinks. Typical Virgin Media though. Wish we could go elsewhere but the local selection isn't great.
