There's been no change of policy communicated formally on this forum. Re: Tivo update You've referenced "TiVo update" in the subject of your post, but posted in the TV360 section. This provides a query that's also part of the answer. TiVo-firmware is licenced in by VM, whereas the Horizon-firmware that drives TV360 is in-house to VM's parent company, Liberty Global. VM want to migrate TiVo users onto TV360, and thus anyone who wants their TiVo/V6 updated, will be recommended accordingly. I'd go further than nodrogd's point that you're "unlikely" to get anywhere, and suggest you simply won't. Regardless of functional differences between the two, VM regard streaming & "online-first" as the future, and thus TiVo as legacy. Re: Old TV box deactivated following upgrade As a general rule, V6 & TV360 boxes are required back when no longer required. TiVo boxes haven't been for several years, and should be responsibly recycled. Re: Pixelation issues. As an interim measure, are the BBC1 national variations (England/Scotland/Wales/NI in EPG 861-865) similarly affected? They're carried on different frequencies to your regional feed on Ch101 If both boxes are affected, it would point at an external issue. Re: V6 Upgrade Questions You cannot mix TiVo/V6 (running TiVo-firmware) & TV360 (running Horizon-firmware) in the same home, so a request to convert one of your boxes will result in all of them being converted. If that means multiple remotes being sent, they should be. The "upgrade now" app is pushed over the internet, so if the slave box has a working 'net connection, that should suffice. That said, the first time it boots up with TV360 firmware running, it may well need to be setup from scratch - which includes the "NIT" tables carrying channel & frequency details. Hence co-ax is a wise idea at this point. Your third point - you need to understand that TV360 comes at recording from a totally different angle than TiVo/V6. TiVo-firmware allows each box to be fully independent & self-contained, but with remote access & multi-room streaming. TV360 is designed around the online-first world with one central recording pool. If, by virtue of converting ex-V6, you have multiple TV360-masters, you can manually configure individual recordings to go on one particular box - but the system is designed around one central hard drive, meaning one shared recording pool with the indexing held remotely rather than on the box itself. Re: Added Sky Channels to my package saying not subscribed Any package changes you make by phone are usually active immediately, during the call. Any requests made via self-service or other similar methods go into a queue to be actioned manually, and you should receive a confirmation email once completed. My immediate instinct is that if "they" who are saying a fault needs to be logged, is VM-CS, then that same "they" should be doing so. Check whether you can access whatever channels you're trying to add, via the TV Go app. You've loosely mentioned "Sky channels" once, and been more specific about "Sky Sports" & "Sky Cinema" in another comment. VM's TV Go app should list all your subscribed channels under the settings menu - do they? Re: Being punished for staying with VM FOR OVER 13YRS. I tape channels that have adverts Any new TV service you buy "from market" will likely be streaming based, and thus your ability to FF through adverts is increasingly being restricted. You could consider a Freeview box (digital TV through an aerial) with a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) that will replicate some of VM's recording features but not necessarily all. Back to personal preference. Re: Being punished for staying with VM FOR OVER 13YRS. trying to remove part of the bundle can increase the total cost On this specific point, landlines are one element where a "without" price is very often higher than a "with" price. Ask yourself whether you genuinely want to remove a landline, or alternatively - is it causing you any inconvenience to have one? Re: Virgin Media logo on Sky Sports Definitely a case of a picture telling a thousand words - yes that helps. That's the anti-piracy logo mentioned earlier in the thread. Heart symbol, teardrop, but it's watermarked. Re: Virgin Media logo on Sky Sports I am referencing the virgin media logo ....in the bottom right hand corner which obstructs the darts score. Can you post a photo of this logo? I think you're referring to the anti-piracy logo, but a domestic subscription should either have a heart symbol in the bottom-right, or a string of numbers in the top-right. The VM logo shouldn't feature.
