V6 picture interference

Hi, can someone please help me with an intermittent picture interference problem on my V6 box. Had the box over 4 years now never had a problem until a few months ago then started to get interference (blocking) which lasted a couple of days then everything ok again (broadband and home phone not affected) Lost count of how many times  I’ve reset the box but makes no difference. I’ve done my best to try and track it down and come to the conclusion it may be weather related seems to appear during periods of very heavy rain, snow, snow melt. I’ve checked with one of my neighbours a few doors away on VM and they have had similar problems. Not sure how to go about reporting an intermittent fault like this is it possible someone on VM team might see this posting and help? Have attached a screenshot of how bad it can get. Sorry to ramble on this is my first post in the community!

  • No need to apologise, that's a particularly extreme example of pixellation!

Can you confirm whether the same problem affects OnDemand & streaming apps? Reason for asking is that signal faults such as what you look to have, should only affect live TV and not anything internet-based. It's quite possible that there's some water ingress into one of your external connections or cables, but it's surprising/fortunate that your broadband isn't affected to some degree.

    Assuming this is the case...

First check the automated faults line for any existing issues in your area that could be the cause: 0800 5610061. If nothing's reported, assume VM don't know about your fault and ideally you'll need to call them.

150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone - choose the options for "I have a fault with my TV service". Alternatively you can wait on here for staff to respond, which may take a day or so.

Thanks for getting back to me. I can confirm that the pixelation problem affects only live TV. I've also checked for any local area faults and there are none. As it's intermittent I'll leave it a few days and see if VM respond then when it reoccures I'll contact them on the number you suggested. Once again many thanks for your help, much appreciated.

        Hello Stokie333,

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your TV service at the moment. That really is an extreme example of pixelation as japitts said. We would need to send out an engineer to have this looked into for you. I can arrange the appointment from here but would need to confirm a few details via a private message, that I will drop over in a moment. Please look out for the private message and we can get started.
        Kind Regards,
