I've had a recent model TiVo box for just under 2 years and yesterday afternoon it stopped working. I wasn't actually using it at the time, but a message kept appearing on screen about the connection to my box and when I looked it was locked in a cycled where Welcome appeared in multiple languages on a black screen followed by 'Starting Up' accompanied by the Virgin Media logo. It would do this over and over again with the lights on the box alternating between solid yellow, solid read, flashing and none. I tried switching the box on and off at the mains, I even switched my router off briefly, but no joy. I've left the box switched off overnight and haven't tried it again but I imagine there'll be no change. Do I need a new box?

UPDATE: Just tried the box again and no change ☹️. Also the second screen says 'Starting Up...' and has a small red clock icon next to it, not the Virgin one.

Try a hard reboot. If this fails then the box will need replacing. You may need a second pair of hands for this.
1) Turn the box off via the switch at the back.
2) Hold down BOTH the front power button (where the horizontal LED is) & the + button on the V6 box, & WHILE DOING THIS turn the power back on.
3) Keep the above buttons pressed for 30 seconds.
The box will reboot & the power button will turn blue. If this is a failed firmware update then hopefully it will resolve the issue..

Tried this three times but didn't work. Just managed to press the two buttons in for approximately 30 seconds and switch the device on at the back but no blue light came on and I just got the same thing as before - Welcome in multiple languages, then no signal and then a signal with Starting Up... and then the cycle repeats 😕.

Sometimes holding the - (minus) button instead of the + (plus) button works so please try tjhat method as well.
