Turning 360 box and TV on and off

I have a new 360 box. It is paired with my TV.  However, it seems that I have to turn both trhe TV and the box on and off separately each time. Is this correct? If I just turn the TV off and leave the box on, the TV will restart and come on automatically after about 10 minutes.  If I just turn the box off, the TV remains on, albeit on the source screen.  This double switching doesn't seem right, and is different to previous boxes (VM box always left on, TV remote used to switch TV on/off).  Or have I missed something?

Ensure you have One Power set to On in the system settings then you can power both on and off with the red power on/off button.
