New to 360. 2 boxes used to have separate recordings

We have just moved to 360.  2 separate rooms with 2 separate boxes.  We used to have 2 separate amounts of recordings etc. now both are joined.  So essentially we have half the amount of recoding space and I have to trawl through my husband’s rubbish to find my recordings.  I know I can search via what was recorded on my box but that is a hassle and does not stay as a default.  Any help.

You've hit on one of the fundamental differences between TiVo-firmware on a V6, and Horizon-firmware on a TV360.

TiVo-firmware fundamentally has multiple boxes each with their own independent storage, but multi-room sharing between them.

TV360 is designed around one central recording location, which outside the UK is remote cloud-based. VM-UK have slightly adapted the software to allow HDD-recording, and mitigated by allowing the advanced recording options to allow some user control. But you can't alter the fact that TV360 is designed for one central recording pool.

Don't move to 360 would be the way to avoid this problem. Unfortunately there is no way to switch back.

If you have two previous V6 boxes that have been converted to 360s (so both have hard disks) then you can set each recording individually to record to a specific box and then filter by what is recorded to each box (though sounds like you may know about that). It's a hassle, both when setting recordings (as you can't default each box to record to itself, you have to do it every time you set up the recording) and when searching as you have to turn on the filter every time but means you at least keep the recording space. If you just have one main box and a mini box though, then this option does not work.

There are plenty of other really nice features missing from the 360 as well, which I'm sure you'll come across in time.
