Help please - Senior moment relating to 360/Multi box settings

Siralli
On our wavelength

Hi all,

Following a replacement TV, I experienced a senior moment relating to either a cable connection, or a Box to Profile mixup, which on completion, resulted in the same recording history on our Master 360 box - and the Multi box used by my wife upstairs!

Nothing has changed equipment-wise but for the TV, and my dabbling!  Both Profiles are correctly named and matched separately, with the correct ID set to each.  The upstairs box is used for my wife to record her specialist viewing, and we both watch the downstairs TV to watch our joint set of recordings and for set sports events such as our favorite Footie team when they play - now that we had to give up our season tickets!

The downstairs Profile appears to be working just fine, but the upstairs profile now shows as identical to the downstairs setup - rather than the recordings showing the original history set, that it should.

If that make any sense?

Memory not being what it once was, I would appreciate assistance with some guidance on where it is that I am going wrong.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Siralli

Hi Siralli,

I assume you must have 2 converted V6 to 360 boxes, I have a main 360 and mini box so can't check that this is still the correct procedure but I believe it should work to see which recordings are on each box.

If you go to Recordings > Recorded > See all > and click on the Recorded tab you will see a drop down with the following options:-

Recorded, Recorded on this Virgin TV box, Planned, and Planned for this Virgin TV box. - highlighting "Recorded on this Virgin TV box" will just show those programs recorded on that box.

It is nothing you are doing wrong, it is the normal Horizon V360 platform behaviour. Horizon was designed as a cloud recording medium, which is how it is used in the rest of Europe by Virgin’s parent company. As cloud recording is not allowed in the UK, your recordings have to reside on a hard disk. However, Horizon is a server driven system, so there is only ONE master list of recordings, no matter how many profiles you create or boxes you have. You can set recordings on either box, but you must go into the advanced settings for each recording set & specify which box the recording should go too. If you do not do this the next recording set will just default to the last box that recorded a programme. When one of your boxes fails it will be replaced with a mini “streaming” box, that will rely on the single master box for recordings.
