Does anyone elses 360 keep losing sound?

On our wavelength

Hi. Not been with VM for that long, couple of months and in that time the box has lost complete sound on several occasions. Not muted, tried everything we can think of, only think that fixes it is a full restart (power off at the wall). Is this a known issue? It's not game-breaking yet but just worried it might get worse.

Hi MV20

Have you tried a different HDMI cable?

I found I had an issue with my 360 losing sound (it was connected directly to the TV, no soundbar etc)  I tried turning off at the wall, removing cables, a factory reset*** but no luck.

The only thing that worked for me was doing some spring cleaning. I removed all equipment from the socket the 360 was connected to, including extensions. I then removed all cables, HDMI leads, and tidied everything up and reconnected. had no problems ever since.

*** If you want to try a factory reset then go to Settings (the cog at the end of the Home menu) > System > Factory Reset. It's actually misnamed and only a partial system reset and not a complete factory reset. You are given 2 options

Keep Recordings
Format Disk

Choose Keep Recordings, that means you won't lose your recordings and any planned recordings or series links you've set up. You will have to sign into your apps such as iPlayer, Prime, Netflix and ITVX again. Also Match frame rate and Standby power consumption will go back to their default settings if you have changed them.
