There should not be any issues recording from linear channels, the only restrictions tend to be on mobile-app streaming of specific programmes.
Do you have any specific examples of channels that give you this error message?

If you could answer japitts question that would be helpful, is it only on one channel or more than one, I haven't seen this error posted before.

I recently downgraded from an old Samsung TiVo box to the latest 360 box....
A few days later I get a full screen advert immediately when I turn my box out of stand-by!
As if ad-breaks weren't enough, now they are bombarding you with ads on the actual USER INTERFACE! Hahaha.
VM is really going downhill, and I agree with you, it's not a customer oriented business sadly. It's just a cash-cow in my experience. I predict they will soon ban all recording, and if possible, they will create mechanisms to FORCE you to have your eyeballs transfixed on the screen before they even start playing the advert, let alone allow you to watch your progamming.

My guess is that OP was trying to record from a FAST channel. I think that's where you get that particular message

That's a distinct possibility, those "shortcut to streaming" placeholders work the same way as the Netflix & Prime placeholders from memory. In other words, you still need to press red to access the content. Having the generic EPG listings just blurs the line a bit more.
@Ralphmelville- please confirm, as per previous posts in this thread, which specific channel number you've had this problem on.
