360 errors but engineers say fine

Tuning in

Few niggles after 360 upgrade then box started failing.  Engineer replaced. Then got occasionally errors truing to open one episode - everything else OK. Tried usual but say so called 150 and ended up with automated check saying fault with 360 and hub - everything seemed OK. Engineer came out. Played with the remote and said everything fine.

Still can't view single episode, now search shows error and check shows problem with both boxes- broadband connection.

Checked upstairs box and can view problem episode!. Both on ethernet cable. Replaced cat6 downstairs but no change.

Still showing broadband connection on both 360s - despite both saying good connection.

Hi. Just wanted to give an update.

After 360 update the intermittent cut outs started and errors showed up.

The box also started to fail.

A new box (used) was supplied by one engineer. A second engineer came out when the cutting out continued and checks said error. - chocolate teapot cones to mind!

A third engineer came and fitted a brand new box but also checked signals etc. All seemed well but the cutting out continued.

All connections were good but after some reading about all the faults people were having I changed my hdmi cable for a new higher spec and immediately I saw a better picture, and the sound was a little better.

After 2 weeks we haven't had a single cut out.

The moral of the story is- if you update to 360 then update your hdmi cable! Mine was £14 but it cured, and improved!

Hi @fishe1 thanks for the update. I'm pleased to hear you've found a resolution.

I'd like to have a quick chat with you privately. I'm going to send you a private message. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right of your screen.
