360 deleting recordings and planned recordings

I did an upgrade on my TiVo to make it a 360. (Roughly 2 months ago).  Since then twice I have found that all my recordings have been deleted and all planned recordings deleted.
I have seen this seems to be a well-known issue - does anybody have any advice as to why it’s happened and can it be avoided?

If the 360 has deleted your recordings and planned recordings it's a sign that the box is faulty.

You can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

When phoning choose the option to report a fault, then ignore all the options offered and hopefully you should then be placed into a queue to speak to someone.

You could also try a factory reset of the 360, and if you haven't got any recordings you might as well go for the format disk option and if or 'when' the box deletes everything again then phone Virgin.

They might suggest you set the Auto delete option to off, it probably already is and shouldn't affect planned recordings but you can check by doing the following;

Press Home > Recordings > Recorded > View All > Manage Storage > Enter your pin > Auto delete when space needed > Set to Off.

Strange that these boxes  aren't faulty before being downgraded from V6 to 360. Suggests its a software issue, not hardware

The email offering me the "upgrade" to 360 states that I will definitely lose all my recordings, planned recordings and series links when I switch, so no, I don't think it's a sign the V6 box is faulty.

Hi saviik2,

You do lose all recordings, planned recordings and series links when you switch from V6 to 360 but unfortunately some of the older boxes don't seem to like the new software and will delete everything after the 'update', the OP says they have lost everything twice after doing the 'update'.

Hi @VictoriaD thanks for posting and welcome back to our community.

Sorry to hear you've been losing your recordings since the software upgrade to TV 360. I would like to take a look on your behalf. I am going to send you a private message. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right of your screen.

To be fair, I was warned, quite clearly, that recordings and settings would be wiped, So I'm curious as to why some posters above think this is a fault with the box?
