Hi, I currently have TV, Broadband and Home Phone, along with O2 mobiles. 
i’m looking to take out a Stream box to use upstairs but the self serve site doesn’t seem to support adding one. 
anyone any advice?

You should be able to add a Stream or Flex box if you do not already have a 360 multiroom box on the account. Flex boxes cannot be mixed with 360 mini boxes.So it may be the case that you cannot add the box online & will have to go through an agent.

I have just the one 360 box downstairs and was originally going to look into another box upstairs however a VM engineer suggested stream as no need for wires/work

Keep hearing that VM's engineers are saying this, maybe they know something upcoming but not available yet.

The advice posted above should be correct, if you want a second box it will have to be a mini box that needs a coax connection for live TV.

It looks like the recent changes regarding additional boxes haven't made it's way into the self service My Virgin Media portal yet, also not all agents seem to have been made aware of this new option.  It might be best to speak to either sales or retentions.

The Forum VIP's were advised that any existing customers on the older DOCSIS network will receive a Stream box when they order an additional TV box as long as they don't already have any additional 360 boxes or v6 boxes.

Qualifying customers can have up to 5 additional Stream boxes. The Stream boxes will mirror the 360 interface and work in the same way that a 360 mini does today (i.e. it takes the recordings from the main box)

Current multiroom users such as myself (and tivo customers) are unable to add the Stream boxes.  If a box develops a fault then it will be replaced like for like.

What would be the chance of replacing a 360 mini box for a stream / flex box to have the ability to move it around the house if needed. I suspect I know the answer, would that be a NO.

I suspect you are correct. If it were possible it would also mean a loss of discounts in my case as I would need to downgrade/cancel my current contract which includes the additional set top box, and then I would also have to pay extra for TNT Sports which are included in my current contract

Last time I looked (only this week) there was no extra charge for a mini box but no mention of a stream / flex box as an additional box. TNT Sports is also included in my current contract lost in the discount section.

I'm certain that you can get what you suggest, it just requires a new 18-month contract.

Only renewed in July with the help of Akua_A to actually receive what I was offered and accepted, so l won't be be renewing until that one expires.
