I was informed by an installer a couple of months ago that Stream Boxes would be available to existing customers in July/August so if I could hold off it would save having to get a brand new wall drilled. Is that now the case? I am on VM 1GB Broadband with Mega TV and am looking to get a stream box to get TV in a room where the installer didnt think it was a good idea to drill for coax. I dont need multiroom, or to have my TV package available on the stream box (although that would be great) I would just like access to TV in the new room. A stream box would be the ideal solution if this is now available as the installer suggested.

It must not be available, which is disappointing as I was told to hang on till this month by the installer. Certainly there are no options to add one, although there are no options to add an additional box for multiroom anywhere that I can see. I'm also getting pixellation quite regularly so perhaps an additional coax box would make that worse.

If you’re getting pixelation then there’s a connection issue between your TV box and VM. Are all connections tight and no visible breaks. I would get engineer to take a look as could just need adjusting in the cabinet.

Mixing of Broadcast (V360) & IPTV (Stream box) on accounts is unlikely to happen. The channel providers see these as two separate delivery systems, & you subscribe to either one or the other. The broadcast technology will eventually become obsolete when VM goes completely over to XGS-PON anyway.

Thanks for coming back to us Mav1874. If you currently have a TV service with us, you would not be able to switch to the stream service from any other Virgin Media TV service.
Regarding the pixelation that you're experiencing, is this on all channels or certain channels such as HD channels?
Kind Regards,

Rather annoying that the installer who was there to install an additional coax box advised me to hold off for the stream box. So I did on his advice. Now I'm being told the stream boxes aren't going to be available as additional boxes. Not a great service.
The pixellation is happening a fair bit on all channels including BBC and ITV both of which I only use in HD. The original installation said something about needing to increase our boost something as I was last in the line from the box so it wasn't getting a great reading. But it has got worse recently.

You should not ever believe "advice" from VM technicians, they do not have access to any VM plans and schedules. Time and time again it has been reported on this board that technicians "advice" has been proved to be untrue. It’s just hearsay from their mates. I know unfortunately that it will not help you now, but others reading the post may remember it in the future.
