Crazy pricing for Mega TV and 2 GB Internet

UnrealMachine35

Hi to all.my first post here.Felt I had to do a post here as everyone I speak to over the phone seems to have no idea what I am trying to tell them and it's so frustrating.

Basically...I live in a nexfibre area with the xgs-pon network..as such regular tv via coax is not avialble to me.

So I was very excited to see that mega tv via streaming boxes is avaialble in my area...really excited about it.....i was....

this is what I don't understand...and no one I speak to via phone calls know what I mean..saying that tv is not avaialble in my area.i know normal tv via coax is not.....but it is with the stream service. I feel maybe not everyone at virgin is fully aware about the new network expansion using nexfibre..what it can actually offer customers signing up.

This is my query...so.

If I ordered 1 GB fibre..it's £39..add mega tv..and it's £49..not bad at all..£10 for advertised 150 channels..sounds amazing..

However ..i am ordering 2gb Internet...order is awaiting install.

So..2gb Internet.. £69.99....add mega tv..and it's £130....with £35 activation fee....so an extra £60 a month.with £35 activation ?

That's a whole lot more than £10 with 1 gb service..so looks like if I want to have tv..I shouldn't be going for there best speed....what is the reason for this massive price taking tv with 2gb vs 1gb?

The pricing looks crazy .looking at the image I have attached..it's more expensive to add tv with 50 mbps..then it is with 350 mbps..50 mbps being £94..and 350 mbps being £39.99

Looking at the included image.. the pricing is just all over the shop.....I really wanted to order the tv and move away from sky..but not a chance with those prices on 2 GB.

Can anyone shed some light on the rational for pricing?really putting me off going ahead with the order

So, just to recap, you are asking about Virgin Media's price transparency policy 🙂

Its smoke and illusions if so.

The 2Gb product is VERY new, and is only being offered outside VMs traditional cable network. So my assumption is ATM the prices reflect the cost of providing what is currently niche product. As further competition ramps up & availability extends to the existing cable franchise areas, the price will no doubt drop.

VM 350BB 2xV6 & Landline. Freeview/Freesat HD, ASDA/Tesco PAYG Mobile. Cable customer since 1993

Thanks for the reply.canceling my 2gbps order as not worth it if wanting tv.

Just do not get why if you order 1gb Internet.. if you want mega tv it's £10 a month extra. Very good price.if you have 2gb Internet.. if you want mega tv..which is exactly the same as if you where ordering it with 1gb Internet.. it's £60 extra a month and £35 for setup....

£10 a month..vs £60 a month..with a setup fee on top..Just looks like someone's pricing at random..
