Buffering

Hi

Just re-subscribed to virgin broadband the last week and have a stream box installed 

I too have noticed some stuttering during adverts and not during the tv program also.

Watching BBC there are no problems 

I get some audio dropout and some picture stuttering  but only during advertising breaks and only noticed this on ITV.

I thought it might be teething problem but the diagnosis screen shows everything is perfect,  Changing between WiFi and ethernet made no difference. I will try a different hdmi cable but the one I am using is one that came with the starter pack.

    Hey Rayek22, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear this.

    If this is only on ITV and nothing else there could be an issue with that have you checked to see if ITV needs updating?

    I have tried it on mine and it seems the same as you mentioned, I have also noticed when I was checking not every programme on ITV aren't in HD some are just in standards definition. 

    It could just be an issue with ITV right now, what type of programme are you having the issues with and it always that programme?

    Looking through the posts it seems I'm not the only one experiencing this problem. 

    You say try updating ITV how do you do this on stream box

    I have also posted on another thread "ITV sound dropouts since recent software update"

    Sorry to hear of your ongoing issues when watching ITV.  Have you checked here for any tips?

      Hi

      I have a great connection and diagnosis menu shows no problems.

      It's only during adverts on ITV 1 and not on any other channel, 

      I've checked everything and also the TV is only a month old . On a connected freesat 4k box there are no problems.

      Others are saying its happening to them after the latest update, I can't tell if this is correct or not as when installing it the stream box updated straight away.

    I have the same issue as well.  Only in last month or so.  Irritating but no more than that

      Do please keep tabs on this, and if this starts effecting your viewing of the ITV content and from other broadcasters too, do please report back to us.

      From reading the posts on this one, this looks like it might be an issue with ITV services only at this stage.

        Still adverts on Itv1 have hiccups.  Particularly bad tonight during Coronation Street 

        All other channels work OK and so does ITVx

    Exactly the same problem here. Done all the usual remedies. Diagnostics all fine...its just it just during ITV adverts everything else is fine...

    Another with the same issue on ITV channels \ ITVX.  Doesn't matter whether wired or wifi, diags show excellent connection, other services fine, inc UHD \ 4K content.  ITV stutters, especially entering \ during \ leaving commercial break.

    Yeah, it's a weird one.. ITV is different as in you can rewind live TV but you cannot then fast forward. Other channels allow this, so, ITV is the odd one out (not sure if there are any more like this) so, dunno, something is different here.

    Saying that, my ITV has been ok the last day(ish). I'm still getting the odd buffering issue on all channels though, even though my connection is stable and these streams are poor quality and def not stressing my bandwidth.

    Wondering if the stream box is a bit limited on usable RAM and is not able to buffer much video before ir being passed on to the screen?
