Bandwidth Speed

Hello, I'm currently looking at moving my braodband & have been told by various suppliers that VM use traffic management software to control the actual internet speed that I receive. I'm on a 230mb package but recently the speed is so slow that I struggle to use basic websites as the pages are simply hanging or not refreshing. I've checked my hardware & software & the slow performance points to the bandwith being the issue. I'm a light domestic household user, no gaming, remote VPNs, video conferencing, just basis browser & email use. Can anyone confirm that I might not be receiving what I'm contracted to get. Thanks.

Why not check for yourself ...

Speed test the service to a Router mode Hub(3/4/5) + your device with the link below.
    https://www.samknows.com/realspeed/

Once the test begins click on: Run full test to include: Latency, Jitter, Packet loss & Upload speed

    1) The speed at the Hub should reflect your subscription.

    2) The speed any WiFi device draws data at is limited by its data needs and technical abilities
and distance from the VM Hub

The "Samknows Realspeed" test is also available as handy apps for iPhones & Android mobiles.

After checking the speed could you please provide some stats, this will show the condition of the circuit.

How to get stats from a VM hub (no need to logon to the hub)

Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1 router mode or 192.168.100.1 modem mode

    • Click on the “> Check router status” button
    • Click on the “Downstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply, do not take a screen shot
    • Click on the “Upstream” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply
    • Click on the “Networking” tab, copy the text and paste into your reply.
      • Do NOT post photos or screen shots they will be rejected as they contain MAC addresses. The board software will automatically change MAC addresses to **:** if done as above.
