Recent ContentI would like to cancel both broadband and phone and port my phone number to a VOIP provider After many years with Virgin I'm moving abroad and so I'd like to cancel all my services (broadband+ and phone) but I would also like to port my phone number to a VOIP provider so that I'll still be able to check on it from abroad in case someone calls me on that number (rare nowadays but who knows). What is the correct procedure to be able to do so? Reading other discussions it seems that I should just cancel the services and then, during the 30days notice period I should activate the portability request from the new VOIP provider. Is this right? Can anyone from Virgin confirm it? Unfortunately most other messages are from people moving to other UK providers but in my case I need to cancel the broadband for good. Many thanks, Charlie Dead land line Land line is dead but the status checker says it is ok. Have tried all the checks I can. I cannot ring 150 to log the fault. Landline completely dead Hi - my landline has been completely dead for several months - no dial tone internally, and when anyone tries to call me the call is immediately terminated (no ringing, no message, nothing). I have run the status checker, and it shows there are no problems. I have looked at the troubleshooting guides and they haven't helped. And most frustrating, the chatbot won't let me report a fault! How do I get this fixed? I have been paying for a service I am not receiving, and so far it has been impossible to contact anyone to sort it out. thanks Adam Fibre landline adapter Hi I was told months ago that a adapter has been sent out for me to swith my landline to the new fibre one but I never did receive the adapter as of yet so was wondering how I can order one as apparently my switch over has happened? Thanks Red light on hub 3 It seems like quite a common problem but the power light on my hub 3 is showing solid red. Virgin help pages say it's overheating or other problem with the hub. Ventilation holes are clear on all sides and I've rebooted it as per instructions with no solution. It seems just warm to me, not really hot. Can someone help please? Internet keeps going off when phone displays check line cord Hi When the landline goes off and displays “Please check line cord” my internet and TV go off. This keeps happening at least once a week and usually by turning everything off things start working. But today it has been intermittent with going from having all services working to nothing, I turned everything off and nothing worked. Then thirty minutes later it came back on for a few hours then went off, it’s gone off again and it’s taking longer to come back on. I’ve booked an engineer for tomorrow but I am concerned it will be working and I will get charged. Crackling noise on phone line Hi, I have had a problem with noise and crackling on my Virgin landline for about a month now. I unplugged my DECT phone base unit from the telephone socket and tried a friend's phone, but there was no improvement. I dialed 150, followed the options and advice to have only one device connected to the line, and confirmed that there are no double adaptors or extensions involved. I then booked an engineer slot, but after choosing my appointment, I was put through to a Virgin rep who went through everything again. They claimed the problem was due to having too many phones connected to one line (I have a single base unit with three other phones, which hasn’t been an issue for years). They even tried to sell me an additional line! I explained that I had tested another phone and still experienced the same noise interference, so I had no need for an extra line. We only have the landline for elderly relatives to call—I do not need an additional line! The rep insisted the problem was fixed and that it would improve once I made another call. Instead, I was kept on the line while they prepared a hard-sell deal to extend my contract, which expires in May. I declined the offer, and the issue remains unresolved—my line is still noisy and crackling. How can I get this problem resolved without being pressured into buying something? Caller Display Not Working Hi I need some help please! My caller display is not working. My phone goes through my router. I have re-booted this & still no such luck. Can someone help me with this! Thanks Sarah Home phone handsets with no cables I have just signed up with Virgin for broadband and phone. I had BT digital voice and have the number ported over but the handset I am told is incompatible, not recognised on wps. I know I can use an old phone with an adapter but I don’t want to use a cable. Is there a handset I can get which will connect on wifi, with no cables? No phone line Hello, my phone line is down , has been for about a week , phone screen was showing line busy, no incoming or outgoing going calls. I changed the batteries, re plugged all lines and finally today I have bought a new phone thinking my relatively new “old “ was the culprit for no phone line. My new phone has no dialing tone . When I ring my landline number from my mobile , it rings on my mobile but nothing on landline . I am now £50 out of pocket with two good phones not in use. Please advise what is going on, nothing showing for my area or home for faults.
