We are getting a problem where the Internet drops out periodically. That is to say our TV, Sky box and PC's cannot connect. However, my son works at home and he is on a work laptop on a VPN link which continues to work.
Restarting the Hub works but that is hugely incovienent and we all pay for a service which I don't think I am getting. As some else mentioned in the forum to the automated checking system it looks like it is working.
My network techie knowledge is not zero but not great. Is this a DNS or DHCP issue.
Any ideas or contributions welcome.
Cheers

If your son is using your internet, the VPN makes no difference, then it would not be an internet problem. Are all the affected devices on WiFi or are some Ethernet cable connected? Just to check your connection could you please post some stats, details follow:
How to get stats from a VM hub (no need to logon to the hub)
Open a web browser and go to 192.168.0.1 router mode or 192.168.100.1 modem mode

Hey xh28, thank you for reaching out and I am so sorry to hear about this.
I have taken a look and I can see there was an area outage which has now ended.
How has the connection been since Wednesday?

Ah bless you. As a very old IBM system programmer it is so nice to see a bit of good old ebcdic. Took me a minute of two to convert.

Thank you and yes the service has been better. The other thing we have done is to change the DNS address away from getting the DNS services from the ISP and am now using google. The reasoning was that the VPN used a different DNS server and was still working where as the rest of the house couldn't access any service.
Thanks for all your help and hopefully it has improved.
