Having been using a Hub 3 for the past 3 years on 50mb, I've just upgraded to 1Gig and Hub 5 which should be coming Friday. I live in a 2 bedroom flat, I've been using 2 x Tenda Nova MW6 mesh units (I've not touched the setup in 3 years, as it's always worked ok for what I need, however the Hub 3 has never been in modem only mode)
I have 2 devices (PS5 & Desktop PC) that I ideally want to get the maximum speed with i.e as close to the 1 Gig as possible. I'm aware that the MW6 won't provide the maximum, but in 5ghz they should give up to 867mb.
The Hub 5 will in the living room, my PS5 is in the living room also, so connecting via Ethernet cable is no problem. However my desktop PC is in the bedroom across the hallway from the hub (probably 20ft away). Currently I have one MW6 node connected to the Hub 3 and one connected to my PC via ethernet. I do also have a spare third MW6 node which I don't use at the moment as it didn't seem necessary to use since moving to the flat.
I'm just wondering if I'll be best keep using the MW6 mesh set up or maybe just getting a USB wi-fi dongle for my PC and connecting direct to the Hub 5 and not using the mesh anymore as I'd like to be able to get as close to the maximum speed on my PC without running a 25ft Ethernet cable across the rooms.

Hello insomniakdream.
Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.
We'll be honest with you here and say it's not possible to help with 3rd party equipment or make any suggestions what is the best mesh set up.
We however have our own mesh units which do have ethernet ports on them.
As you're on 1GB they can be sent out at no additional cost, Full details are available here
If you'd like to take this offer, please let us know.
