Do I have to be at home for engineer visit if......

Hi all,

At the moment my 250Mb broadband service is running under (but stable) 100Mb download speed but an as allocated  25Mb upload speed again stable, since there was an outage, or at least since I had to reboot my router as there was no internet service last week.

MY question is do I have to be home for an engineer visit? Who will no doubt only go to the street cabinet test and rest my power levels as at the moment they do look a bit high, nock on my door and say something like "all sorted".

I would like to add since this last outage to my connection my broadband speed has been very stable for years!

At the moment I am working 6 days a week early till late, and with my last booked tech visit that was cancelled on the day with about 10 minutes left to my allotted window I am not to confident that they will arrive if I try to book time off but if I don't have to be home for an engineer who really should not have anything to do at my PC as I don't really want to waste my holiday entitlement for what looks like an technical or network issue.

If there is anyone who might of had the same problems and been able to have it sorted either remotely or without waiting around, any information you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

In the first sentence you tell us you have a VM service, you omit to explain how the 100Mb/s figure was gleaned.
Then in the same sentence you tell us you don't have a service.

What an utterly contradictory message.

I think VM’s T&C say anyone can be there as long as they are over 18 years old for a technician’s visit.

Thank you I will wait till I can change my shift and be at home. As if asking a genuine question on this forum results in receiving a answer like the one other than yours I don't think I will ask for any further help on this forum, but to yourself, thank you.

Glad to hear you've found the answer you was looking for 🙂

Any issues let us know.
