Unhappy with renewal price

AVPhil
Tuning in

Been a VM customer over 30 years. Monthly cost practically doubled from £80 to over £140pm over the past few months upon expiry of discounts. Called this morning as now out of contract and only offered a very small reduction and kept being offered bigger packages (which I don’t want) instead. I’d just like to keep my current package at a similar price as before, otherwise I’ll be going elsewhere.

Anyone from VM able to advise? Thanks.

VM staff here can't deal with contracts, they can only refer you to the usual contact numbers.

Probably the only way to get a better deal is to get a quotation for a new contract with a new supplier, and tell you you are leaving. They are very likely to come back with a better offer.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Thanks for coming to our Community Forums @AVPhil, and welcome back!

We're sorry to hear that the renewal prices offered aren't suitable, in comparison to your recently discounted service, that has come to an end.

If you were to request a disconnection of our services, this would need to be handled by the Retentions team that would likely be able to access more lucrative discounts that service level agents can offer.

We would also advise that once a disconnection has been placed on an account, and a customer is within their 30 day notice period, our Retentions team do call customers back with any last ditch offers that have become available to them, and what may be of interest to a customer.

Thanks,
