Severe Packet Loss (Area04)

Swinder
Up to speed

As of circa 10am 29/09/2024 my connection took a nose dive in terms of performance. I am seeing a sea of red packet loss on my BQM.

171295fdf7e5e4a3395661e1cb0cd38561671f3a-30-09-2024

Clearly most notable over night when the connection is not in use. In terms of when being used, it is typically when gaming that I see noticeable issues, general web surfing is fine.

At present the hub5 is setup in modem mode and being passed through an Asus router running with merlin firmware. The router has been restarted numerous times and the firmware has been updated to the latest version. The hub5 has also been restarted numerous times and I have also took the router out of the loop and ran with a direct wired connection.

All devices, including wireless, are powered down and only my wired desktop is online at present. There is nothing standout in my router logs and the upload/download logs are only really seeing relativeley low transfer speeds.

Speed test results are varied for the upload, anything between 700Mbps and 924Mpbs. The upload has been consistent at 105Mbps. There was also no indication on the status checker for my area when last run.

Also Try the “free & automated” Service Status number - 0800 561 0061 - which usually gives the most up to date info. and tells you of more local issues and fix estimates, down to street cab/ postcode level.

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & TNT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi), Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Thanks for the info, will keep that number handy as the web driven status frequently crashes out for me.

Regarding the packet loss, I lost the connection completely for ~45mins then it cam back completely free from packet loss so who knows what was fixed or was the cause for it.... Ignore the 4am loss, that is my scheduled router restart.
