Recontract - Why should I have to lie?
We are out of contract since Sept 2023 and pay the recently increased price of £84.65 p.m. for M125 broadband, Maxit TV (190+ Channels) and a phone line. Following 3 separate calls over 3 days with “Retentions” the very best price for recontracting is £75.00 p.m. for 18 months.
We have been with NTL then Virgin for 18 years. We do not have a TV aerial or dish and rely on the Virgin Box for TV reception. 3 household members use “ntlworld.com” e-mail addresses and one household member would not be willing/able to change. She is adamant that “gmail” is from some foreign US company and won’t last as long as the trusted NTL people.
We don’t want to leave. Why should I have to say otherwise?
M125, Maxit TV + phone, for a new Virgin customer, is £37.00 p.m. for 18 months. So the price of loyalty and being a dinosaur is £75.00 - £37.00 = £38.00 p.m. or £684.00 over the next 18 months. More than double the new customer price.
Yes. When we call up tomorrow to provide 1 months’ notice we will actually be leaving. Even though we don’t want to. Virgin you cannot treat your customers this unfairly.

Perhaps let them know that VM/NTL is also a foreign US company 😉
