Hi There,
I recently renewed my contract “like for like” but I’ve just got an email from Netflix saying I’ve been downgraded from standard to standard with adverts. That’s not what I based my renewal on and my renewal order clearly says Netflix Standard and not Standard with Adverts.
Is this an error that can be corrected (without me paying more) or is the downgrade intentional? In which case my package stops being good value.

Netflix got rid of the Standard plan earlier this year. The only standard plan that is available to subscribe to now is the one that includes ads unfortunately

I believe they discontinued Basic and replaced it with Standard With Adverts, which annoyed people because it cost more and delivered nothing extra. Standard, without adds still exists and can be signed up to, but VM appear to be offering one thing and signing people up to something else, which is blatant misselling.

So this has moved from what I’d consider a misunderstanding to downright scummy behaviour. I raised this query about an hour ago and now I have a new set of contract documents, generated just now, with a notification that Netflix standard has been removed and replaced with standard with ads.
That’s downright underhanded and absolutely not on.

We're sorry to hear there's been some confusion around the package change. All new packages taken with Netflix, will only include Standard with Ads. This is due to tier changes done on Netflix's side.
This is something we can certainly check further for you but in order to do that I'll need to confirm some information with you to pass security.

Same problem here along with many other people. Starting to feel like a bit of a scam. Keep an eye on your 14 day cooling off period, so if you choose to cancel your “like for like but really a lot less” renewal you can without penalty.
