Max TV Offer

Tuning in

Got an offer of 3 months free max tv, then £12 per month thereafter. Does anyone know if Virgin start to take the £12 per month automatically after the 3 months or do they contact me before doing this, so I have the option of cancelling it before they do so.

Hi mattlfcx6

Thanks for coming back.

Yes, once the free 3 month period comes to an end, we'd then automatically start charging for this service.

If you take out the offer and no longer want the service after the free period, we'd recommend getting in touch with us over the phone (0345 454 1111) 30 days before your offer ends, provided this offer does not include an 18 month contract for this service.

Is the offer running on a 30 day basis?  If so you can cancel it.  It should say on your new contract.  Also I would doubt if VM will contact you and just start billing when the time comes.

Hi mattlfcx6

It might be easier if you post a photo of the offer (minus any account specific information such as name/address/account number/contact details) so this can be checked.

Offers usually start a new minimum term contract of 18 months, unless it's for a paid add on subscription such as Sky Sports/TNT Sports which are normally offered on a 30 day rolling contract.

Hi mattlfcx6,

Thanks for your post.

Do you have a screenshot of the offer you're referring to please?

This would depend on a couple of things - if the offer is received is part of a complete package change and the new service is bundled within your base package, you wouldn't be able to remove the add-on during your contract without incurring early termination fees. However if the service is treated as an add-on, it'll be on a 30 day rolling basis as Adduxi has advised. In which you can cancel this when your discount ends without any issue. We'd require 30 days notice, however before it can be removed from your account.

My word, it's ridiculous that Virgin staff and Moderators on here don't even know what deals are on offer at the moment.

I get that mods are volunteers but at least know your stuff.

Hi Mattlfcx6

I'm almost 100% sure Virgin will start taking payment automatically as I believe you've signed up to an 18 month minimum term contract.

I hope this helps.

@HavencroftKev

the screenshot you posted is a new customer deal, not an existing customer deal.

Correct!!

Are you assuming Mattlfcx6 is an existing customer, because I can't see anything in his post which suggests he is.

It's a 3 month offer, I am an existing VM customer and have just started a new 18 month contract. The 3 month free max tv offer appeared in my online account as a black Friday deal. It will be £12.00 per month extra after the 3 month expires, but all I wanted to know is if VM will take out the £12.00 after the 3 months or will they give me the option of not carrying on with it after the 3 months expires.
