Why when I use my parents post code Y018 8AN I can get broadband and TV but I don't get the options to include a phone package such as weekend chatter ulimited ect (i.e. the half voip digital one where you flug your old DECT phone into the back of the router with the plug converter). But when I do the same search using my postcode S63 6HW I do get the option to get a phone pacage.

Hi there @ricoghardforth
Thank you so much for your post and welcome back to the community forums, it's great to have you here.
I am so sorry that you are currently unable to add a landline to your parents address, it may mean this service is not yet available in their area. You can call to speak with our sales team who will confirm this for you. You can reach them on 0800 183 1234.

When VM started in our area telephone was not offered, we migrated 3 BT lines to VOIP it was the best step ever, the numbers are no longer location dependent and cost a lot less than being with BT / VM involvement.

Perhaps it’s an XGS-PON area, they don’t support phones at present.

I've just checked that postcode (by the way that should be the letter O and not numerical 0) and it's in VM's Full Fibre area (XGS-PON)
VM don't currently provide a phone service in Full Fibre areas but may do at some future point - see <here>

VM are still using their legacy telephone exchanges to provide the landline services, hence they are only available on the legacy network. XGS-PON customers will have to wait for full VoIP switchover for landline services. I suggest signing up for a standalone VoIP service, as it can be plugged into any ISPs hub without any need to transfer. There are also no "line rental" charges, you are only charged for calls.

If this was phone based advice it does not surprise me. You also don't get the full cable TV service in XGS-PON areas. All you get is a Virgin Stream box with no recording facilities.
