Landline message

The dialling tone on my landline is intermittent, indicating that there is a new message.

But when I check for messages there are none there.  

This has been happening for about a week.  How do I make sure that the dialling tone is intermittent only if there is an actual new message.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Apologies for the issues that you have been having with voicemail notifications. Have you tried this method, dial your voicemail. Option 3 for settings and features and then option 2 to manage message alerts, then turn on & off by pressing option 1.

Thanks for the tip.  But this doesn't work for me.  It does not give me an option for setting and features.  Once I have dialled 1571 it gives me only two options:  option 2 for Greetings and option 0 for help.  I have explored both of these and not found the option you refer to.

Thank you for confirming that. 

Can you confirm what options were given after selecting 0?

The options were:

2 - for help with checking your messages

3-for help with listening to your messages

5 - for help with your greeting

None of these options help to change the intermittent dialling tone.

Thank you for reaching back out and for the update, have you tried calling yourself on another phone and leaving a message, once done go in and listen to the message, this should then stop the message tone?
