I have had a virgin.net email account since dial-up days and ntl/Virgin Media broadband/tv.phone account since then. This email address is still used by several of my contacts.
Yesterday I moved some emails off the account and this appears to have triggered an email saying that the email account will be closed in 30 days "As I no longer have Virgin Media services".
However I DO have Virgin Media services and have done for a very long time. I do appreciate that this old email account has never actually been associated with my broadband service as it dates from an earlier time, but I'm asking if it can now be associated, instead of closing it, as I have been a continuous customer since it was originally set up.
Please can this be done?

Hi glasspath
Thank you for your post and welcome back to our community.
I'm aware of the email you're referring to. I'll send you a private message now to take a closer look and see what I can do :).
Please look out for the envelope in the top right of the page and pop back to me when you can.

Hi Vikki_M.
I have had a virgin.net email address for about 25 years. I never had a VM account or service. I remember you used to be able to pick up a CD in a supermarket, load it in and pick an email address! Bottom line, every single person I've ever emailed has my virgin.net address as my contact detail - there is just no way on earth I can think of all those people/places/companies and let them all know I have a new email address!!
I don't even need to be able to log in to my virgin.net emails; as a precaution years ago, I set up autoforwarding to a hotmail account and I access them that way. Can't I just keep the nominal address and forwarding facility? I can't even begin to tell you how stressful this is. Thanks

Thanks for getting back to us @samlibal we do understand that there are many who have had their email addresses for many years with us, unfortunately without customers who do also have media services with us, we are afraid that we would no longer be able to maintain these mail boxes. The rule that you have set up for forwarding to your Hotmail account would be the same similar process in order to advise all your contacts that going forward to contact you would be the Hotmail account or another domain should you choose one.
We do apologise about this.
