Yet Another Virgin.net Deletion Post. Help needed.

I to have received the "Action Needed: We're closing your email account" message from VirginMedia in relation to my Virgin.net email address.

I have had my virgin.net email address for 20+ years and have been a VirginMedia (and Telewest before that) customer since the early days of broadband internet.

I remain an active customer with Broadband, TV and Telephone services. I have also previously discussed this account with VirginMedia and been assured that - as long as I remain a customer - the account will be maintained.

Based upon reading similar threads, it sounds like the virgin.net account is no longer associated with my VirginMedia account, unlike all my blueyonder.co.uk addresses which do show up.

I called the VirginMedia support line today who insisted the email was a phish and that I should simply delete it. This is clearly not the case.

I have replied to a couple of other threads however I have created this new one in the hope that someone from the forum team can advise on how to avoid deletion. Following 20+ years of use this email address is associated with literally hundreds of logins, and is the recovery address for many more. It will take a lot more than 30 days to unravel all that...

Thanks in advance.

I received this email last week, only just found my way to this post. My virgin.net email address is also around 20+ years old and remains my main address. More importantly I AM STILL A VIRGIN MEDIA CUSTOMER with telephone, broadband and TV services active.

I called the helpline today and the team insisted that the email was a Phish and that I should just go ahead and delete it. This is clearly not the case.

My blueyonder.co.uk email addresses show as associated with my account (I've been a Virgin customer a LONG time) so how can I get my virgin.net address associated in the same way? Does anyone know?

Hi Lee_R I also received the email and I have not left Virgin Media. I have been a customer for 20+ years so I'm very concerned about the possibility of losing my virgin.net address which I have considered my main address for all that time. Historically I've been assured that I would not lose this address as long as I remain a customer so it was a shock to receive the email last week. Is it possible to associate my current, active Virgin Media account with my virgin.net email address to avoid deletion? Thanks

In theory it should be possible to have that email attached to your existing account, if a VM can pick this up. But they seem to very busy at the moment with similar enquiries.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

It can take the VM forum team several days to get to each topic. You would do best to wait for a reply on your own topic

to avoid confusion as there are a great many 'email closing' posts flying around the forum at the moment.
