Re: Concerned Virgin.Net eMail Users

I am also affected by this.

My virgin.net email dates back to when I was a dial in customer. When broadband arrived I couldn't get a VirginMedia broadband service where I live - and I still can't.

In 2021, after temporarily losing access, I took out a VirginMedia phone contract as this was the only way I could remain a customer but I have read that this "doesn't count" when it comes to emails.

My son is a VirginMedia customer and, having spoken to the company after receiving the same email, he was told that:

1. He could retain his virgin.net account

2. My and my wife's virgin.net emails could be associated with his VirginMedia account and, by doing so, remain active. (Originally all 3 email accounts were associated with my dial-in account)

However, I then received the "15 days to take action" email yesterday.

Is there anything I and my wife can do to keep these virgin, net email address as they are associated with a significant number of internet account log-ins.

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Hi @JamesFL

Thanks for posting and welcome back to the community.

If you don’t have an active Broadband service with us, then we are very sorry, we can no longer support your email, as per our Terms & Conditions. You need to seek an alternative email provider. New email accounts can be set up in minutes, with providers such as Gmail, Outlook, iCloud.  We highly recommend you forward any important emails from your Virgin account to your new inbox.

If the account for the email/emails in question is not the same name as your Son, they cannot be moved over to his account.

It would need to be the same name for all.

I am calling Virgin, right now on the phone and putting in a formal complaint. There are many of us.

As you have been told on your many other posts, complaints have to go in writing to https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-media-complaint

and they take 28 days to respond.

For your own sake, please don't waste time on here. Concentrate on setting up a new email address and moving all your contacts to it.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

We don't have 28 days left as Virgin have said they will delete emails before 28 days are up. And complaints do not have to be in writing - look at Virgin's own website - it CAN be done on the phone.

If you are not currently a VM broadband customer, VM is not offering any other options based on VM replies to umpteen similar topics on here. VM seems intent on deleting mailboxes which cannot be associated with a VM broadband account.

But they still have 28 days to reply, however you complain.
