Prohibited word use reseting password
My Blueyonder e-mail, which has been working fine for years, just stopped accepting my password. I have received no communication from Virgin Media stating that it is time to reset my password or providing any other explanation for this. I tried to reset my password, and I continually get the "Prohibited Word used" for every password I try. Whoever designed this reset interface needs to go back to college and learn about user interface design and user experience. At no point is any advice given as to what a password should be. I have tried all manner of combinations based on other posts on this forum. Yes, my password starts with a letter (not documented anywhere on the form). Yes, I have an uppercase and a lowercase letter. Yes, I have a number. Yes, it is between 8 and 64 characters. No, it does not contain any easy-to-guess words. No, it is not a reused password. Somebody explain how ANYBODY is supposed to reset their password using an interface like this?49Views0likes2CommentsSecondary email password reset
Like others I've lost webmail access a secondary email address from ntlworld days during the swap-to-notntl-then-swap-back gyrations. I've read other threads and know what I need to do - creating a new VMO2 account linking to the original email address - but it appears I have the wrong password recorded or the account has got locked out. The online pw reset won't work for me as I had no secret info set against the secondary account. Could someone from the mail team DM me please so we can get this reset and access restored? I still have pop3 access to the account so this should be pretty straightforward. Not urgent :) Thanks! Mike57Views0likes2CommentsBlueyonder email password reset

Someone hacked my blueyonder address and used it to buy stuff from my Amazon account last week. When I tried to log in on line my password didn't work, and the verification code sent to a rogue email account that was not mine! So they have control of my email account! I spent 3 days on the phone to Vm explaining and attempting to log in with no success. Finally they said this was with their fraud team and technical team and I should leave it to them to sort. They said it may take 3-5 days, that was over 1 week ago, I haven't heard anything. Not sure what I should do and how to resolve this, any ideas?30Views0likes1CommentPassword reset
We have been customers for a long time... My wife and I both have blueyonder.co.uk email accounts. As account holder, I initially set up sub-accounts (email addresses) for my wife and each of our children. I used to be able to see these and manage passwords (in fact originally, only I could do this - they couldn't manage their own accounts). I cannot find this page anywhere on my account details. My wife has a new laptop, and cannot remember her email password (not something you use very often when emails are synched onto a computer) but we can't find a way to either recover or reset this. The account is still active and on her iPad, but it doesn't show the password. Any help and advice?? Thank you!99Views1like6CommentsNightmare caused by Blueyonder Email and VM!
We signed up for Virgin Media about 10 years ago. I have been pleased with their broadband in terms of speed (as it was always Full Fibre here and No copper - yes). They gave me the Email maiThese-lto:G***@blueyonder.co.uk and for my wife mailto:S***@blueyonder.co.uk These are for example. To access the account change passwords I used G email no probs. Then when Web mail access came out they put me on a mailto:GM***@virginmedia.com Email this was not the account holder had to BYonder!! And if I read my mail on G @ BY it was the same as mailto:S***@BY. My wife has a new laptop so moving Email over to it on Office 365 copilot Outlook (client). Thats been changed and is unhelpful. But I can't find the password. (I use a password manager but this was all set up before that). I ring up Help Desk via their automated what do you want Broadband TV etc. Finally get through that and Help desk say this BY account is not connected. Eventually after a morning I get on to a WhatsApp Chat. And they have raised a ticket PO number. But it will take 3 -8 days to respond and they do not talk directly to users. However they have changed the ID of the account holder from a BY email to my VM email. I can access the account and read my Virgin Email. But a brief break from the dialogue. I don't view VM as a comms company they are in entertainment TV and all that jazz. And some time ago they lost Email for about 10 days!! So I decided enough was enough I have my own domain name (only costs a small amount). Went to another company and pay for domain support and Email.) There are rumours?? That VM will drop all blueyonder Email support (and some others). When I started to tell my wife that she may have to change Email address - she wasn't very happy. I would make a formal complaint but I don't feel Virgin Media are listening to their users or helping us. Getting through the on-line phone help desk is a nightmare.56Views1like1CommentResetting Password or recovery email address on secondary account
We have been trying to reset the password on my son’s @ntlworld.com account very unsuccessfully. We have tried the “verify another way” and the verification email is one that we don’t recognise and therefore have no access to. Having spent over an hour on the phone again today being passed around various departments there still seems to be no one that can correct what could be a fraudulent verification email in an attempt to block my son’s access to his email! We have tried recovery codes and they haven’t worked, it has been escalated (again) to the “IT Department” Has anyone else got any suggestions??39Views0likes1CommentForbidden 403 - usual response doesn't work
I have been Forbidden access to my webmail (@ntlworld.com) for about a week. In the past, resetting the password has always remedied the problem - but not this time. I have done this five times - from different kit (desktop, laptop) and browsers (Firefox, Chrome) but to no effect. What else can I try?Solved103Views0likes2CommentsOutlook email help
Trying to get help on behalf of my mum for email access. Historically she had a blueyonder email address. A while ago virgin stated she had to create an outlook email address. Had some teething problems but managed to keep logged in to my virgin media and email. They stated even if people emailed to blueyonder it would still be received at the outlook address. This seemed to happen. Not sure if it’s worth noting, but she’s always had trouble accessing outlook address through outlook and can only see emails through my virgin media. Recently it’s logged her out and she can’t get back in. She enters the username for my virgin media and it won’t accept the password, so clicks on forgot password, which then sends a verification code to her outlook email which she can’t access. We chatted through WhatsApp to someone who referred it to IT but have heard nothing. Hope my explanation makes sense if anyone can help? Thanks112Views0likes5Comments
