Sky Sports Package

So Sky are rebranding their sports channels,  as a Sky customer you can choose just the PL channel for exampl and reduce your monthly costs will Virgin be offering the same option or is it finally time to ditch Virgin and go to Sky?

Re: Sky Sports Package

Not at the moment but if you ditch Virgin over PL prices you'd lose BT sports

Re: Sky Sports Package

BT Sports is available to Sky at an additional cost at the moment the only thing keeping at VM is the fact it is cheaper,  if the Sky reduction gets close to VM then I'm off. I'm fed up of being treated like crap by VM customer lack of service

Re: Sky Sports Package

You save a couple of quid a month from Sky's offer, and they are not ATM offering the same deal to Virgin

As they are premium channels, the pricing of Sky Sports channels is controlled by Sky, as are the packaging arrangements. While the rebranding will take place for all customers at the same time, the packaging agreement for wholesale with Virgin remains the same until it expires & is replaced.

Re: Sky Sports Package

Hopefully this is a move towards having a choice to pay for what one wants to watch instead of having to contribute to all the crap and repeats

Re: Sky Sports Package

But it's no staying the same is it? As the way they deliver Sport is changing. Surely that should force negotiations so that customers can chose to pay for what they want.

Re: Sky Sports Package

Virgin are not slow to increase the price when Sky puts the charges up or is that they are so poor at negotiating that it's just a one way street

Re: Sky Sports Package

Yes I agree. One problem with VM is that they appear slow at negotiating but very quick at hiking prices up

Still no sign of 4K...

Re: Sky Sports Package

They can only negotiate when the existing deal is up for renewal. As Sky take 99% of the subs from these channels there will probably not be a lot to negotiate. If you think you might be getting a raw deal then spare a thought for BT TV customers, who as subscribing to a direct competitor for sports output, won't even get all the channels.
