We have recently signed up for virgin as it is new to our area. We pay £55 per month. We were told we would have all the channels we had previously with BT, we do not have the sky sports extra channel which is the one my husband and son watch. Looked on website last night it said extra £17.00 per month. Husband went to sign up for it but it says it is £31.75. So that takes us over what we were paying for BT. How do we get the £17 that is advertised on website? Anybody know ? Thanks
You've got the Full House bundle which does not include Sky Sports and is not advertised as such. To add Sky Sports £31.75 is correct. From time to time they run offers e.g half price Sky Sports or £22 per month. I suggest ringing 150 or 0345 454 1111, selecting the "thinking of leaving us" option followed by "technical issue" to speak to Customer Services/Retentions. They may be able to offer a discount on Sky Sports.
AFAIK BT TV customers only currently get 2 Sky Sports channels (Main Event & Premier League) costing them £27+ (They are not due to get the others until the Now TV app is supplied).
The OP mentions Sky Sports Extra. This is a channel exclusively for BT TV customers to provide some content from the other Sky Sports channels they cannot currently receive any other way.
Virgin customers get ALL the Sky Sports channels plus Red Button services, so Sky Sports Extra is not needed. This also explains the increased cost.
This is true. It's £27.50 for SD or £33.50 for HD. The Now TV is app is already there, but only allows acess to Sky Cinema and nothing else. This is the same for all YouView customers. The jury is out on whether BT will carry the full suite of Sky Sports channels in the EPG or customer will have to access everything in the Now TV app next year.
