Price increase

I joined VM 12 months ago on a deal for £67pm, increasing to £82pm after 12 months (see picture).  VM have now sent me my latest bill for month 13, and my package has now gone up to £103pm!!!

Can Virgin actually do this???

Re: Price increase

Deals are fixed minimum term, not fixed price (as is clearly stated in VMs terms & conditions). There was a price rise in November that would have increased your bill, so with your promo discount running out the new total will be more than the one quoted when you joined.

Re: Price increase

Even still, from a quoted price of £82 up to £103 doesn't make sense. Did anyone else get an increase of 25%???

Re: Price increase

Call “Retentions” on 150 or 0345 454 1111 (or 0800 9528046) - options 1-1-4-5 "Thinking of leaving" - they are open Monday – Friday, 8am - 8pm and on Saturday from 8am - 6pm. – [08.01 is best!]) you have a better chance of getting a UK call centre (it could still be a 30’+ wait though) who will be more understanding and helpful. Tell them that as you are now out of contract and can leave without penalty, you are thinking of leaving for Sky/BT because of this price rise - and they will try and sort it for you (as it’s their job to keep customers) probably offering you a better deal in lieu of signing a new 12mo contract

They sold you a non-standard bundle, which might explain it. The £82 Full House standard bundle is with only 100Mb VIVID & one TV box, so the original offer you had would have included additional upsell discounts that you have now lost. The second TV box alone would account for £7.50 a month.

Re: Price increase

I'm sorry but I can't see what is making the OP's bill total up to £103.

The maths:

Full House TV, VIVID 100 + Talk Weekends = £70 (last year's pricing)

VIVID 200 = extra £5

Additional TV box = extra £7.50

Subtotal: £82.50

November price rise = £3.99

TOTAL: £86.49

The extra £16.50 must be due to On Demand charges, telephone call charges, pro-rata charges for premium add-ons e.g Sky Sports/Cinema or an error on VM's part. OP, look at your bill and you will see exactly where the extra charges are coming from.

Re: Price increase

Unfortunately, the bill is not itemised, so I can't determine the reason for the increase to this level. Virgin don't seem to know either!

Re: Price increase

And I don't have any phone or premium channels such as sport.
