Pixelation and programme jumping back a few seconds

I am suffering with pixelation and the programme jumping back a few seconds, when it starts it does it for a few times then stops and carries on as normal.

We watch the TV quite a lot on pause and rewind, stopping a programme and then watching it at our own pace.

This has only started after a recent visit from engineer who replaced our WIFI box.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Re: Pixelation and programme jumping back a few seconds

It is highly unlikely to be the super hub that is the cause of the issue as wi-fi has little or no impact upon pausing live TV.

The memory buffer used when viewing live TV does have a finite limit, but this would not cause pixilation as the buffer can hold up to about three hours of a channel.

If you use the rewind/fast forward functions the playback will jump approximately 5 seconds before the point when you press play, it is a built in feature to make it easier to view a program. It is worth noting that if you press stop on a paused TV program the V6 will display live TV.

The most likely cause of pixilation is some sort of signal issue.  You can check this by using the Check service status link and entering your post code. If there are no items listed for your area then you may have to telephone virgin in order for them to investigate the issue further.

Thank you for posting on our community forum page.

I'm very sorry about the pixelation issues you've been experiencing.

Were you able to speak to our technical support team like michaeldavis advised?

No problem if you haven't as we can send you a private message and take a closer look at your account instead?

Re: Pixelation and programme jumping back a few seconds

The error code M59 is usually associated with a failure to update the program guide.

If your V6 box or superhub has been completely powered down for any length of time then this error may be displayed.

Try the following
Home > Help & Settings > Network > Connect to Virgin Media Service now >
If you get any errors then:
Check that all cables are tight and then power down your superhub and power it back on (this can take up to ten minutes so it is an opportune time to but the kettle on). Once only thee white light is showing on the hub repeat Home > etc.
