Engineer wouldn’t drill holes for additional boxes

Hello,

We recently had an engineer round to fit an additional V6 box in a upstairs bedroom. When the engineer arrived, he said wiring would be tricky as he cannot drill through the ceiling or walls and cable would have to run along carpet and up the stairs. This was due to health and safety.

Only way around this would be if we would drill the holes and call them back.

Is this normal?

Thank you

Are you in a new build or a high up flat?

No a mid-terrace house, not new build.

The room the the box is located in is directly below the bedroom too which should make it easy.

Re: Engineer wouldn’t drill holes for additional boxes

Its perfectly normal. WAH regs apply so it would need a heights team to install an upstairs bedroom from the outside... And those are as common as rocking horse poo.
