Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

Great!!

But the usual moan again I'm afraid.

Wheres the news on the main VM sites like My Virgin Media?
The announcements on the PDF Channel Guide hasn't changed for this yet, though the actual PDF has been revised to V3 (19/09/2019).

Its almost as if there isn't a Standard Operating Practice or Protocol for communication of channel changes and its an ad-hoc operation every time.

Oh, and where's the announcement for the 1st October changes now flashing for various (Discovery) channels.

Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

AFAIK there are no channels being lost, only switching from the SD to HD varients.

So I doubt it needs a big splash to inform people

Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

I'm not asking for a big splash!!

Just a consistent and adequate announcement.
Could have also confirmed no need to check/revise favourites.

Wonder if that's the same for 1st October when some of the same channels get moved again!!

Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

Well a novel new way to tell us about another reshuffle.

List the channels, now go find the numbers on the PDF Guide!
Actually you want the numbers to check the PDF is finally updated.

Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

Quest HD has just moved from 217 to 172.  In October I am informed it will move to a different number!

Who the hell plans this out?  They are completely inept!

Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

Ah but they've obviously confused you.

The new channel packages are Mixit & Maxit, Personal Picks & Premium Channels.

Bundles are how TV service & equipment is combined with other services, and also VM Mobile, a different company with a similar name!!

Well that's how I understand the confusing website sales pitch.

Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

They are likely replacing the Standard Definition channels with the HD versions first because they think it's less confusing. The customer can process in their minds easier that the HD versions are going to be the only versions available going forward. If they did everything at once some customers would wonder where their Standard Definition channels had went went and maybe assume they were elsewhere in the guide.

After all this sorting of channel numbers coming up, many of the +1 versions of channels will not be beside their main channel, many channels will be moving quite a bit up/down the guide.

Many people when confronted with too many things at once only take onboard some of it. For example, I've often found if I ask, say, 4 questions in an email to someone I usually only get 1, maybe 2, of my questions answered.

The pop-up information if they did it all at once would be more complicated, and there would be much more of it. Simple is best, but simple can mean doing things in multiple stages.

Re: Channel changes from Thursday 26th September

If you want all questions answered then number each one.  It is easier for people to know they have missed something
