I'm not sure whether you're trying to reset back to RF mode, or possibly just resetting the TV/AV programming mode? But I just want to confirm you now should only need to do the following to get the V6 and the remote back to being paired in RF (and once you have, don't change anything else on the remote's settings, or reset it. etc.)
Getting your V6 into pairing mode Press the Channel minus button on the front of your V6 box for 10 seconds The Power light will go Off and On. After the light comes back on the V6, it will be ready to pair with the remote control Pairing Mode remains active on the V6 for 5 minutes allowing you to try the remote instructions again if unsuccessful on the first attempt.
Getting the Remote into Pairing Mode Hold the Info button down on the remote for 7 seconds until the light on the top of the remote goes green Press any key on the remote and if pairing is successful you will see the light flash GREEN Twice To confirm if pairing was successful Press and hold the channel plus button on the front of your V6 until you hear a bleeping sound coming from the remote control
NOTE: The V6 can also be paired with the remote by accessing the following options and following the on screen instructions:
Press Home on the remote > Select Help & Settings > Select Settings > Select Devices > Remote Control Pairing
The above instructions should work (especially make sure the V6 and the remote are in paring setup mode at the same time) if it worked before. If that definitely doesn't then you may have a defective V6 and/or remote, and you'd need Virgin to help sort that out.
Unfortunately all the stepa you mentioned had not worked with the previous rc and again did nit work with the new rc replacement. Whe. Holding down volumen minus on the tivo everything goes as supoosed. But when holding info it does not flash green. This is the new remote control. So it impossible that a new remote control has a problem. In any case I confirm the pairing on the tivo by holding vol up and no sounds comes from the rc. Followinf pairing from the tivo setting menu makes no difference. I could try a tivo reset but that **bleep** me off as I eill lose all the recording which I need for the kid.
Yes that is corrwct tivo v6 and small remote. Everything worked ever since. Then I decided to try to pair my av bose system and after trying holding clear + ch up or down that everything switched to the current ir mode. Do mot get confused the remote does not reset at all always blink red. I got a new remote from virgin via the chat and that paired and worked on rf even thiugh was blinking red. But after few minutes even though was paired and working on rf it only worked on ir mode. I am 100% sure there is some hidden code to reset this but I need a virgon tivo expert for this. I am an av specialist guu working for one of the biggest Tv brand woth a red logo.. I am getting annoyed of this and really thinking of leaving now.
Thank you for confirming. Would you be able to check that your remote is successfully paired by testing the "find my remote" function? To do this, press and hold the Channel Plus button on the front of the V6 until you hear a bleeping sound coming from the remote control. That sound confirms the V6 is paired.
Alternatively, you can head to Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Remote Control Pairing, it should say at the top of this screen whether there is currently a remote paired with the box. If your old remote is still paired, this may be causing part of the problem.
Could you also try changing the batteries? If you have low batteries, the remote won’t work in RF mode (only IR). As far as I'm aware, the reset function would also not work if your batteries are low. Just to clarify, you don’t need to reset remote before repairing - but reset will clear any altered settings you have for AV/TV device programming.
