The TV box I have just switches itself on and off constantly and goes to the start up and welcome screen. Can anything be done to resolve this?

Many thanks, Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm afraid it sounds like the box may have  gone to meet it's maker in heaven.

I don't think this will make any difference but double check that the white coaxial cable is firmly connected and leave the box off and removed from the mains for around 10 minutes and try again.

Otherwise you should call  150 from a Virgin landline or mobile, or 0345 454 1111, option 2 (Faults

When calling Faults you will hear the automated response asking you to press 1 for the link to online support etc

Ignore all the options and don't press any buttons then you should be placed into a queue and an agent should pick up the phone and book the tech for you.

Or wait a day or two and a member of the Forum Team should pick this up for you and arrange a tech visit.

Good afternoon, thank you for your quick reply. I've arranged for an engineer to come over tomorrow. Would they not just send out a new box rather than an engineer?

Cheers, Paul

Hi again Paul,

I know it would be easier to send out replacement equipment rather than book an engineer, however sometimes equipment can be fixed/repaired by the engineer. Whilst there the engineer can also check everything else is working OK.

Also some people report faulty equipment when there's nothing wrong with it, especially hubs, so sending an engineer saves unnecessary .equipment wastage.

It's often quicker  to send an engineer than relying on yodel (lost/broken equipment) or royal mail (strikes)
