Re: Wall mount v6 Box vertically

A lot of Superusers (and others) who post on here are ex-installers or specialists who can answer all your questions - may just take a bit longer or them to get to this - is there time pressure ?

no there’s no time pressure, we’re just hoping to get the right solution so any advice from any ex-installers would be very much appreciated

Ah, fair enough. I have a 32mm plastic pipe buried in the wall behind the tv which carries several cables - for much the same reason Smiley Happy

Thanks, this is looking like the most credible option at the minute, just kicking myself for not thinking about this before decorating

Re: Wall mount v6 Box vertically

Ahhh see if you had told us that before...

You could certainly get the installer to terminate the V6 behind the telly, then route through the pipe. They MAY or MAY NOT do the routing through the pipe for you , but if they dont, sounds like you are well versed in doing the same thing yourself. Then you are going to need to route the cable for V6 power through the pipe (unless you've installed a power point behind the telly? ). V6 CAN use WiFi, its better to run a cable if possible, to the "Wi-Fi box" - or HUB as we call it.

Your partner sounds remarkably similair to mine. Hence why me 5.1 surround sound is now in the skip (sorry local council recycling point)  and I have a soundbar  Smiley Sad

I’ve just checked with my partner and unfortunately he doesn’t want to go down the pipe route, so if we can’t find another solution then it’s a very disappointing no TV Package (until maybe when we next decorate) 🙁

Re: Wall mount v6 Box vertically

Have you considered this stuff?

I've used it to hide wires by affixing it either on or just above the skirting board (it opens its full length and clips shut so no need to feed anything through).  I've also used it to hide the speaker wires to my wall mounted surround speakers and painted over it (used the smallest size trunking for this) and you barely notice it's there!

I would use it, but unfortunately the other half doesn't want to, it's looking like we're running out of ideas, I'm annoyed with myself for not planning this when we decorated :-(

Re: Wall mount v6 Box vertically

I recently had a V6 installed in the bedroom. I already had  wall mounted TV with concealed wires. My TV aerial came down from the loft behind wardrobes in the adjacent bed room and though the wall. So I was able to put my bedroom V6 in the corner of the room and feed a 10 metre 2.0 HDMI cable behind a wardrobe and up into the loft and take the same route as the aerial to connect to the TV. I had no problem connecting the BB wirelessly to the V6.

If you have good wireless BB you could consider using a NowTV box or something similar rather than a V6.

do you know of a complaint email address as I can’t bare to spend hours on end getting passed from pillow to post?

my other half just wants to cancel everything now, shocking customer service 😡😡
