Virgin TV 6 Box

Getting to the end of my tether trying to switch on TV 6 Box. Seldom switches on

when I switch on !  Am fed up switching off mains and switching on again. This is not how

it is supposed to work. Please help or I"m back to Sky.

Thanks John

Re: Virgin TV 6 Box

What did Virgin say when you phoned and reported the issue?

Re: Virgin TV 6 Box

Thanks. I have not phoned Virgin for a long time, but they were not very helpful.

Just said switch the mains of and on. But it seems very common with v6 boxes.

Re: Virgin TV 6 Box

As far as I know this is not common at all, certainly don't see any reports of this issue here and not experienced it myself in the two years I have had a V6.

Call up and advise that the box won't come out of standby and you have to restart it every time and that you want an engineer to investigate. If they still don't play ball then call again and go via the thinking of leaving us route to get to a UK call center who are usually pretty good.

Re: Virgin TV 6 Box

Hi McAlister5,

Thanks for your post.

Very sorry to hear you are having trouble with your V6 box. Have you spoken to the team about this since your last post?

if you have, have the team been able to resolve this issue for you?

Re: Virgin TV 6 Box

Thanks your reply.

yes I have had a reply from the team. Still having a bit of trouble switching on, but it is not as bad as it was before.

Now it only happens now and again. I am still going to ring Virgin as it is by no means perfect, as I should not

have to switch the mains on and off !. to bring it out of standby.

Thanks for your interest, don't suppose you have any more ideas ?

Regards John ( P.S. is it difficult to get a local engineer out ? )

Re: Virgin TV 6 Box

Apologies for the issues you had.

Did you manage to get hold of the team? How are things looking at the moment?

Thanks

Re: Virgin TV 6 Box

Still the same. I just switch the tv off and back on and all ok but the problem recurs. That’s quicker than phoning.
